Espresso vs super-automatic
A semi-automatic like the Breville Oracle Jet or Barista Touch Impress gives you grind-to-cup control and the option to dial in any bean. A super-automatic like the Jura Z10 or De'Longhi Eletta Explore trades that control for one-button milk drinks. Filter by type first.
Pressure and the 9-bar threshold

Built-in grinder vs separate grinder
A built-in grinder (De'Longhi La Specialista Maestro) saves counter space and integrates dosing. A separate grinder gives you a wider grind range and lets you upgrade independently. Coffee snobs prefer the latter; convenience buyers the former.
