Best Gaming Headsets in 2026 — Buyer's Guide

The ten highest-scoring gaming headsets in our catalog — where one headset's battery is 300 hours and the rest of the category is still arguing about 50.

vsMars Editorial··

One headset on this page runs for 300 hours. The next-longest manages 120, and most of the category sits between 50 and 70. That single number produces a 9.5-point gap at the top of the ranking and it is not an exaggeration — it is the specification that defines this category right now.

Every figure below is the live computed Mars Score.

Highest score in the catalog: HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless

Mars Score 81.9 at $199. 300 hours of battery — between two and six times everything else here — with 50 mm drivers, lossless 2.4 GHz wireless, a detachable microphone, and surround sound.

Three hundred hours is roughly four months of evening gaming on one charge. Everything else on this page is a headset you remember to plug in.

Who should buy it: anybody. This has been the value answer in this category for years and the ranking agrees.

The 120-hour pair: Cloud III Wireless and Cloud III S Wireless

Both score 72.4, at $169 and $199. Both have 53 mm drivers — the largest here — lossless 2.4 GHz and 120 hours.

The only difference: the Cloud III S has microphone noise cancellation and the Cloud III does not. If you play with friends in a room with other people in it, that is worth the $30.

Note that the Cloud Alpha Wireless costs the same $199 as the Cloud III S and lasts two and a half times as long, with smaller drivers and no mic noise cancellation.

The premium wireless field

Razer BlackShark V3 Pro (65.6, $249) gives you 70 hours, mic noise cancellation and mobile support.

Corsair HS80 MAX Wireless (65.2, $179) runs 65 hours across PC, PlayStation, mobile and Switch — the broadest compatibility here — and its microphone is not detachable, which is the one thing on this page you cannot work around.

Corsair Virtuoso Max Wireless (64.8, $329, the most expensive here) is the only wireless headset in this top ten with ANC, at 60 hours.

Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed (64.1, $249) has 50 hours, the shortest wireless battery on this page, with broad platform support and mic noise cancellation.

The three-way tie at 61.1, and why it is there

ASUS ROG Delta S Animate ($199), Corsair Virtuoso Pro ($199) and Razer BlackShark V3 ($129) all score 61.1 — and all three are wired. Their battery figure is 0 because there is no battery, which is accurate rather than missing, and it costs them the points that dominate this category.

That is worth reading carefully. A wired headset has no latency, no charging, no battery to degrade, and no wireless dongle to lose. On a desktop it is arguably the better product, and our model — which weights battery heavily because most of this category is wireless — cannot say so.

The BlackShark V3 at $129 is the cheapest headset here, works on five platforms, and has mic noise cancellation. If your headset never leaves your desk, it is the sensible purchase on this page.

The ROG Delta S Animate is the only wired headset here with ANC.

How to choose, in four questions

  1. Wireless or wired? Wired costs you nothing at a desk and saves you $70 and a charging habit. This category's scores do not reflect that.
  2. If wireless, battery is everything. 50 hours means weekly charging; 300 hours means seasonal.
  3. Microphone noise cancellation matters if anyone else is in the room. Four headsets here have it.
  4. Detachable microphone. Every headset on this page except the HS80 MAX lets you remove it and use the headset in public.

All gaming headsets in the catalog are ranked on the gaming headsets page, and the full dataset behind these scores is open data.
