Suction is the number on the box and climb height is the number that decides whether the robot works in your house. It runs from 20 mm to 60 mm across this page — a threefold difference — and a robot that cannot get over the strip between your kitchen and your hallway will spend its life cleaning one room and telling you it is stuck.
Measure your thresholds and the lip of your thickest rug before you read anything else. Every figure below is the live computed Mars Score.
Highest score in the catalog: Dreame X50 Ultra
Mars Score 88.5 at $1,699. 20,000 Pa, 210 minutes of battery, and a 60 mm climb height — three times what most robots manage, achieved with legs that lift the body over obstacles.
It self-empties, self-washes and self-dries, and at 63 dB it is quieter than the Roborocks above $1,700.
Who should buy it: anyone with thresholds, transitions or thick rugs. This is the only robot here that will not be defeated by them.
Best value at the top: Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni
Mars Score 88.4 at $1,299 — 0.1 points behind the leader for $400 less. 18,000 Pa, 230 minutes, the longest runtime here, 62 dB, full self-maintenance.
Its 22 mm climb height is the catch, and it is a significant one. Flat homes only.
Most suction: Roborock Saros Z70 and S9 MaxV Ultra
Both score 88.0 with 22,000 Pa — the most in the catalog — 40 mm climb, and 180 minutes.
The S9 MaxV Ultra is $1,799; the Saros Z70 is $2,599 and adds a mechanical arm that picks up socks. A real party trick, $800, and a slightly smaller dustbin. Unless the arm is genuinely the feature you want, the S9 MaxV Ultra is the same robot.
Both run at 65 dB, the loudest on this page.
The step down: Dreame X40 Ultra and L40 Ultra
The X40 Ultra (83.9, $1,499) keeps the 60 mm climb height with 12,000 Pa — nearly half the X50's suction for $200 less. If your problem is obstacles rather than deep carpet, this is the smarter buy of the two Dreames.
The L40 Ultra (82.9, $1,199) drops to 40 mm climb and 11,000 Pa.
The value picks
Ecovacs Deebot T30 Omni (81.9, $999) offers 11,000 Pa and a 420 ml dustbin, the largest here, at 22 mm climb.
Roborock Qrevo Master (81.3, $1,599) is the odd one: 10,000 Pa and 25 mm climb for more money than the T30 and the L40 Ultra. It is outscored by both.
Cheapest, and the quietest: Yeedi Cube and Eufy X10 Pro Omni
Both score 80.1 with 8,000 Pa — the least suction here — and 20 mm climb, the lowest.
The Yeedi Cube is $499, the cheapest robot on this page, and it has no camera navigation and no AI obstacle avoidance — it maps with lidar and will drive through anything smaller than a shoe. Pick up before you run it.
The Eufy X10 Pro Omni is $799 and has both, plus a 400 ml bin — and runs at 55 dB, 10 dB quieter than the Roborocks, which in a flat is the difference between running it while you are home and running it while you are out.
How to choose, in four questions
- Climb height first. 20 mm to 60 mm. Go and measure your thresholds — this is the specification that determines whether the robot cleans your home or part of it.
- AI obstacle avoidance is the difference between a robot you tidy up for and one you do not. Only the Yeedi Cube here lacks it.
- Noise, 55 dB to 65 dB. Ten decibels is roughly twice as loud to the ear.
- Self-wash and self-dry are universal in this top ten — every robot here maintains its own mop. Below this price bracket they do not, and a mop that dries dirty smells within a week.
