Amazon - Kindle (2024) vs Amazon - Kindle Colorsoft

The Kindle Colorsoft edges ahead on the Mars Score (67.7 vs 70.8), but the 3.1-point gap is small enough that the right pick comes down to which spec advantages matter to you.

Pick the Kindle (2024) if you carry the device everywhere and weight or thickness has been the deciding factor before. The biggest gaps in its favor are weight. The single most decisive one: Weight — 61.00 g less. 158 vs 219.

Pick the Kindle Colorsoft if the display is what you stare at all day — refresh rate, brightness, or sharpness is where the difference will be most visible. Its strongest claims are storage, screen size, waterproof, among others. The single most decisive one: Storage — 100.00% more. 32 GB vs 16 GB.

Both ship with comparable resolution, so those specs do not separate the two — focus on the differences below.

Bottom line: there is no wrong answer here — match the spec advantages to how you actually use the product. The Mars Score parity says both are well-rounded; the differences are about trade-offs, not quality.
